Machineworthy take
Core capture, search and handoffs do not require a hosted LLM. Use v2.5.2 or newer for the published privacy fixes; redaction is best-effort, storage is not additionally encrypted, and opt-in cloud embeddings can transmit the existing corpus.
Access and pricing
Free MIT software; self-hosting and optional external model services cost separately. Local embeddings are the default; networked team deployments require appropriate authentication and transport protection.
